The collision luminosity of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) after its upgrade reached 4.17×1032 cm-2s-1 for the first time on December 14, 2010, which marked a new milestone in the BEPCII commissioning.
The new round of commissioning started right after the BEPCII completed its first round of dedicated synchrotron radiation running for the period of 2010-2011. During the commissioning, the collision luminosity had continuously broken its records until 4.17×1032 cm-2s-1 was achieved.
The new high means a much better machine performance which makes it possible for physicists to accumulate many more data, a firm basis for new physics at BESIII in the future.
